Harrison Bergeron Story

Harrison Bergeron

The ballerina fell to ground after hearing her handicapper go off in her head. Holding her temple, she noticed another dancer went down with her. When she stood back up with the another dancer, about to start dancing again, the announcer broke the program with breaking news. He started to say "ladies and gentlemen", but handed it to the ballerina to finish the breaking news. The ballerina took the board, she was wearing the most hideous mask as handicappers rested on her body, she made her voice squeaky to match an average's persons voice. She announced that a guy name Harrison Bergeron had escape from jail and is planning to overthrow the government. When she finished the ground began to shake for what seemed like forever and ever, as if time showed down. Everyone close their eyes and covered their heads in a panick, and when they opened them Harrison Bergeron was standing in front of them stating that he was charge now as he tore off his handicappers. The ballerina admired his courage as she watched him, ever fiber in her body wanted to stand up and tear off her handicappers, but she was scared. Feared that the general would come and make her have more handicappers as possible, if any.
Harrison was now looking for a mate, a wife, and the ballerina cowered there debting if she should risk, if she should pay the price of being free of her handicappers or stay trapped in them forever until some other marcle happen. Time pass as she thought about her choice, then her body moved on her own standing up, and Harrison came over to her taking off her handicappers and her mask reavaling a beautiful, fragile girl. He took her hand, demanded the musicians to play and once they got the right melody the ballerina felt the melody running in her veins, traveling to her heart and taking over her mind, body, and soul. Before she knew it Harrison and her were dancing the most beautiful dance ever flimed on TV, they leaped to the ceiling once or twice and on the third time kissed the ceiling. The ballerina looked down at Harrison and as if he knew at first sight as well, they kissed each other savoring the freedom they had, and savoring this feeling of happiness. There were two bangs heard throughout the theater. They were dead before they hit the ground, the handicapper general smiled at the dead ballerina and Harrison, before she turned her shotgun towards the musicains warning them that they had 10 seconds to put their handicappers back on. The blood of the ballerina and Harrison flowed off the stage and that lasting moment of freedom was now just a dream.
